Here are the top ASX large cap movers for Monday

The ASX 200 futures were pointing higher at the open, but the index closed the day lower by 0.16% at 7,444.

It was a mixed bag with three ASX sectors finishing in the green, while eight were in the red.

The Energy sector was the clear winner, up by more than 2%, following the 3% rise in oil prices on Friday as OPEC+ rejected calls by the US to increase output.

Shares in oil heavyweights Woodside Petroleum (ASX:WPL) and Santos (ASX:STO) climbed 3% today.

Travel stocks have also rallied on sentiment as the pandemic gradually wanes and tourism rebounds – with stocks like Flight Centre (ASX:FLT) and Qantas (ASX:QAN) rallying between 4-5%.

The travel sector was also buoyed by the news that Sydney Airport (ASX:SYD) has agreed to a takeover from a consortium at $8.75, valuing the airport at $23.6bn. The SYD share price rose 2.86% to $8.46.

ASX debutant SiteMinder (ASX:SDR) jumped 35% today after a $627 million oversubscribed IPO.

The $1.36 billion market cap hotel platform was founded in 2006, and its technology provides a platform to integrate the internal management systems of individual hotels with booking sites.

“The need for technology like SiteMinder’s hotel commerce platform is of substantial relevance as hotels have had to digitally transform with haste, while adjusting to their customers’ changing needs and behaviours,” says SiteMinder CEO, Sankar Narayan.

The royalties investment business, Deterra Royalties (ASX:DRR), reported a 13% QoQ increase in royalty receipts for the September quarter to $59.7 million.

Most of its royalty revenues were made from Mining Area C (MAC), an iron ore mine located in the Pilbara region of WA, 92 kilometres west-north-west of Newman.

Miners St Barbara (ASX:SBM) and Evolution Mining (ASX:EVN) were both up 4-5% on no specific news.

PolyNovo (ASX:PNV) dropped 10% today after announcing the resignation of its CEO, Paul Brennan, in late Friday trading. The company said he will remain in the position for three months to assist with an orderly transfer.
