The ASX (ASX:ASX) says that trading volume by value was up 29 per cent in November, compared to a year ago, even though were fewer trades placed during the month.

On average there was 1.61 million trades each day in November, down four per cent from the 1.67 million trades conducted in November 2019.

But $138.2 billion was exchanged on-market, compared to $107.2 billion a year ago.

The average daily trading volume was $6.6 billion, up from $5.1 billion a year ago.

The average trade was for $4,679, up 28 per cent from the $3,662 average trade in November 2019.

On average there was 0.7 per cent daily volatility in the All Ordinaries index in November, compared to 0.5 per cent a year ago.

There was $8.4 billion in total capital raised, down 13 per cent from a year ago.
