If you find yourself cringing at things you did when you were younger, you’re not alone — even Bono feels the same way.

Reflecting on his career in a recent interview with The Times, the U2 lead singer said most of the band’s chart-topping tracks are hard for him to listen to these days because he doesn’t like the sound of his voice.

In another darkish twist from the same interview, he also conceded he doesn’t even like the band’s name (but ultimately he ran with it long enough to chalk up 22 Grammys and ~170m record sales).

On local markets, the mood still isn’t bullish as the ASX 200 traded flat in the morning session.

A finish in the red would mark three straight falls at the big end of town, as rising bond yields appear to be putting pressure on tech and financial stocks.

But if you’re still allocating capital at the junior end of the resources market, you’d be making bank (read on below for more details).

In crypto markets, Bitcoin slid back beneath US$42k overnight while USD gold prices pushed further above US$1,800/oz.

Large cap gold miners ripped higher in morning trade, with Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) up +5% while Northern Star (ASX:NST) jumped by almost 10%.

ASX 200 Energy stocks also look set to continue their winning streak amid the ongoing strength in global oil prices.

Iceni Gold (ASX:ICL) led the laggards, after providing assay results from a diamond drilling program at its Deep Well prospect within its 14 Mile Well tenement package.

ICL said while the drilling “identified a large hydrothermal alteration system”, it “did not intersect economic gold mineralisation at these specific locations”.
