ASX Small Cap Lunch Wrap: Who’s punching the bears today?
News

After a record stock rally in November, share market bulls are firmly in control in the lead up to Christmas.
While outsized daily gains have been less common in December, the ASX200 shrugged off a negative futures print this morning to rise slightly into midday trade.
If the local index closes higher, it will mark the sixth straight day of gains to kick off the month.
It was a similar story among the microcaps, where the ASX Emerging Companies Index edged higher to continue its winning ways following the big gains last month.
The consistent rally has left post-Covid market bears in a similar predicament to this California black bear on Thanksgiving.
The bear finally had a meal in its grip (in the form of a pitbull called Buddy), only for the dog’s owner to crash the scene, punch the bear in the face and rescue his beloved pet.
Buddy survived the ordeal with the help of some stitches from the local vet.

Ed-tech platform TALi Digital (ASX:TD1) outperformed, after announcing it had received a strategic $US2m investment by the India-based Brand Capital International (BCI).
TALi, which provided digital cognitive learning tools for children with attention deficit disorders, said the investment will give the company a funding base to “accelerate the roll out of TALi products in the Indian market”.
The investment will give BCI a 9.84 per cent stake in the business. Shares in TALi rose above 5c in morning trade for the first time since January.
Another leader in morning trade was VIP Gloves (ASX:VIP), which jumped by around 20 per cent after announcing the board had approved a new dividend policy.
The company flagged an annual dividend payout ratio of between 20-40 per cent of earnings, which will be paid twice-yearly at the discretion of the directors.
