ASX Small Cap Lunch Wrap: Gird your loins investors, it’s election day

Historically, the US share market rises on election day and falls the day after.
Research by Aussie broker IC Markets shows the Dow Jones rallying on the day of the US election 80 per cent of the time since 1984.
It retreats the following day more than 75 per cent of the time.
Which is important for the Aussie bourse, as we tend to follow Wall Street’s lead.
As predicted, US share markets rallied on election day Tuesday as investors anticipated a clear election winner.
“The lead for Democratic Party nominee Joe Biden in national opinion polls raised expectations for a decisive outcome and post-election stimulus package,” CommSec says.
But this bats..t crazy year is like no other on record. Another curveball would surprise no one.
Case in point: the Aussie market has ignored Wall Street’s gains, trading 1.15 per cent lower to 5,996.9 point by midday Wednesday.

Force Commodities (ASX:4CE) now owns a stake in a couple of high grade copper projects in the Middle Eastern country of Oman.
High flyin’ explorer Tesoro Resources (ASX:TSO) has hit wide, high grade gold at the El Zorro project.
And biotech Avecho (ASX:AVE) announced that toxicology studies into its drug deliver platform were successful.
