Antisense Therapeutics (ASX:ANP) surged off the back of clinical trial results of its anti Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) drug. DMD is a disease that causes muscles to deteriorate and break down and affects on in every 3500 to 5000 boys but the drug was shown to be safe and effective.

In early trade shares went as high as 89 per cent, as at 10.15am the stock was at 7.2 cents – representing a 50 per cent gain.

Meanwhile in resources, manganese play Bryah Resources (ASX:BYH) rose off the back of solid drilling results.

While many of the biggest winners had major news, this was not the case with the ten biggest laggards in early trade.
