Special Report: Respiratory health company Respiri has entered into a sales and marketing partnership for its wheezo devices for asthma management with Pharmacy 4 Less.

Pharmacy 4 Less will begin stocking Respiri Limited’s (ASX:RSH) trade-marked wheezo devices in its Australia-wide network of 100 pharmacies from early in 2021.

“The Respiri team is thrilled to have Pharmacy 4 Less selling wheezo,” said Respiri managing director and chief executive, Marjan Mikel.

“The group’s commitment to professional services and their community and patient focus are strongly aligned with Respiri’s values,” he added.

Respiri’s mission as a company is to improve the quality of life for hundreds of millions of children with asthma around the world and to dramatically reduce asthma-linked hospital admissions.

Respiri is supporting the partnership with a commitment to a training program focused on asthma management using wheezo devices to complement Pharmacy 4 Less group’s renowned professional expertise and personal service.

Handheld monitoring device measures patient’s airway

Wheezo is a simple, easy-to-use handheld smart device that includes an ehealth app that helps to improve the management of asthma.

It does this by monitoring a user’s wheeze and by documenting symptoms, signs, triggers and weather conditions and medication use.

Wheezing is a typical symptom of asthma and other respiratory illnesses.

Wheezo is a world-first technology that detects the symptom and provides an objective measure of airway limitation.

Respiri’s asthma management platform facilitates the sharing of data with caregivers, physicians, and other health professionals.

Ongoing support for asthma patients at Pharmacy 4 Less

“By bringing wheezo to the Pharmacy 4 Less stores, we demonstrate our ongoing support of asthma patients, both adults and children, and their caregivers,” Pharmacy 4 Less managing director and chief executive, Feras Karem, said.

A TV promotion campaign featuring Respiri’s wheezo devices is part of the partnership deal, and will feature former Australia cricket team captain, Michael Clarke, and Carlton’s women’s Australian rules football team.

“We are passionate in improving asthma management and patient understanding is a critical step to limiting the avoidable complications of asthma, and wheezo can assist patients to better manage their asthma,” said Karem.
