Nutritional Growth Solutions has made two key appointments as it moves to strengthen its foothold in the Australian and Southeast Asia markets. 

Paediatric nutritional products provider Nutritional Growth Solutions (ASX:NGS) has appointed former Blackmores managing director Peter Osborne to its ranks as it moves to unlock Southeast Asian revenue. 

NGS has announced Osborne will be joining as strategic advisor for China and Southeast Asia. He was the managing director (Asia) for Blackmores from 2009 to 2020. 

He also served as Australian senior trade commissioner in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Taiwan. 

Osborne is currently chairman (Asia Pacific) for US probiotic company Seed Health. He is strategic advisor (Asia) to ASX listed hemp company Ecofibre (ASX:EOF) along with health and beauty business BWX (ASX:BWX). 

He is an operating partner of Cortina Capital, strategic advisor to Edison Partners and an external advisor to Bain & Company.

Other key appointments

NGS has also appointed Mark Sargent as advisor for the Australian market. Sargent has over 20 years’ experience in consumer health, including 18 years at global pharmaceuticals company Bayer (ETR: BAYN) where he has been in senior global & Asia Pacific customer & marketing roles and most recently over 10 years as the ANZ General Manager.  During this time, Sargent also was a board member the Australia industry association (Consumer Health Product Australia),  including roles as both Chair & Vice Chair. 

NGS said he brings a deep understanding of the Australian market along with some great connections to further advance its progress locally. 

NGS achieves milestone quarter

NGS recently delivered a solid Q1 FY22, making inroads with its US and Asia Pacific expansion with continued demand for its Healthy Heights products in the US and China.

Quarterly revenue in the US from sales of Healthy Heights products are up 4% on pcp, despite having to navigate stock shortages over the quarter.

NGS said supply chain shortages in the USA have now been resolved with a once-off, large order of high-quality whey protein from Fonterra Co-operative Group.

Following on from more than 20 years of research at world-renowned  Schneider’s Medical Centre, NGS’ products are scientifically formulated to ensure children receive all the nutritional vitality to achieve their optimal height and are clinically proven to support growth development.
