With $3.5 trillion in assets due to be passed on by baby boomers over the next 20 years, new data from Safewill shows this might be outside their children’s hands as expected. Instead, many grandchildren are set to inherit their grandparents’ estates. Research also shows a significant shift in inheritance patterns; one in 10 Wills includes grandchildren, but there’s also been a 225% rise in Wills completely bypassing children in favour of grandchildren. Data also shows a massive jump in people putting digital assets and crypto into their Wills.
