The Fantom Foundation has announced it has expanded its sponsorship with the Italian F1 racing team and constructor Scuderia AlphaTauri, as well as sealing a new partnership with the French MotoGP champion, Fabio Quantararo.

Through its 2022 deal, Fantom (FTM), which is a Layer 1 blockchain rival to the likes of Ethereum and Solana, will be a prominent and visible sponsor of the Scuderia AlphaTauri stars Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda.

The Fantom logo will be visible on the nose and halo protective barrier of the new AT03 F1 vechicle, as well as on the helmet and cap of both its star drivers.

“Formula One has never shied away from the future or the challenges that are present, and we drivers are always eager to anticipate where the next leap forward will come from,” said AlphaTauri F1 driver, Pierre Gasly.

According to a press release shared with Stockhead, the Frenchman also revealed he’s been a supporter of crypto “for some time now” and that his experience with an NFT (non-fungible token) project last year opened his eyes to a new way of engaging with fans.

In addition to Fantom’s sponsorship with the Italian F1 team, Fantom will also become the newest sponsor of MotoGP champ Fabio Quartararo.

In October, Quartararo sealed the 2021 MotoGP World Championship title becoming MotoGP’s first French world champion.
