Crypto is ’emerging as a huge, huge player’, says Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds

Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds believes crypto is “emerging as a huge, huge player”.
The Deadpool and Free Guy star shared his thoughts on the asset class in an interview with Bloomberg this week, adding that “companies are doing a good job of bringing it into a sort of safer, more mainstream light”.
When asked whether he owns any crypto himself, the Canadian actor gave a somewhat coy laugh, stopping short of confirming any personal holdings. “I don’t really want to comment on that, but I do see the value in the conversation,” he replied.
He’s clearly been keeping an eye on the space, though: “It’s been emerging for a long time, so I’m not super surprised.”
Does Ryan Reynolds hold any crypto? Here's what @VancityReynolds had to say when asked by @emilychangtv.

“I mean, 90 per cent of the word crypto is crypt, so I see why certain folks might be put off,” the actor added.
So why is Ryan Reynolds’ opinion important? On the face of it, it isn’t, massively. But well, you know what sort of influence celebs have – especially in America.
And crypto is most definitely in the conversation in the US, especially after major Super Bowl ads from FTX, Coinbase, Crypto.com and eToro.
And along with numerous high-profile sports stars, such as Tom Brady, Mike Tyson, Steph Curry and LeBron James, and musicians/rappers including Snoop Dogg, Method Man, Doja Cat and Eminem, several other big-name actors have been delving into crypto in one way or another…
Reese Witherspoon, for instance, revealed last September that she invested in Ethereum (ETH). And she’s been on about NFTs a bit lately, too.

She’s also right into flogging Jack Dorsey’s Bitcoin payments enabler CashApp, too…
And another Academy Award-winner, Matt Damon is neck-deep in crypto as well, teaming up with major exchange Crypto.com as the face of its “Fortune Favors the Brave” marketing campaign.
Here was South Park’s take on it, though…

Some other confirmed crypto-fan actors include Ashton Kutcher, Jamie Foxx, Kevin Hart and Drew Carey – who was a pretty early Bitcoin adopter judging by this 2013 tweet…

Meanwhile Keanu Reeves, despite apparently still owning some crypto he was given by a friend, doesn’t seem so down with the whole digital scarcity vibe of NFTs just yet…
