Golden State Mining (ASX:GSM) is a West Australian based resources company focused on gold and base metal exploration. The company has three strategic land packages located in very prospective geological settings in Western Australia.

GSM is very excited about the potential of its assets. The company’s technical team is managing a number of aggressive exploration campaigns as it looks to build in ground resources.

Gold is the main exploration focus in the Murchison close to Cue and Laverton in the Goldfields. At Yule the Pilbara, only 50km south of Port Hedland, base metals and gold targets are currently being evaluated.

  • Mike Moore, Managing Director

    Mike is a mining engineer from the Camborne School of Mines with over 20 years operational and executive management experience across a diverse range of commodities in Australia, Indonesia, West Africa and Europe.
    He has previously held senior and executive management roles with a number of companies including Rock Australia Mining & Civil Pty Ltd, Carnegie Minerals PLC and, more recently, with ASX listed Montezuma Mining Company Ltd where he was CEO.
    Mike is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. Mike is currently serving as a Non-Executive Director of Variscan Mines Ltd (ASX:VAR).

  • Geoff Willetts, Exploration Manager

    Geoff is a geologist with over 18 years’ experience in various commodities including gold, base metals and mineral sands. He started work in gold mining for Barrick Gold in various roles from production and project work through to resource definition and development. He then moved on to base metal and gold exploration with senior roles in listed juniors, Graynic Metals Ltd and Horseshoe Metals Ltd. More recently he has been involved in the resource definition work at Wiluna Gold mine for Blackham Resources Ltd.
    Geoff graduated from Kingston University in 1999 with a honours degree in Applied Geology and went on to complete a master’s degree in Mining Geology from the Camborne School of Mines in 2000. Geoff is a Member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists.

  • Damien Kelly, Chairman

    Damien is the founder and principal of Western Tiger Corporate Advisers. He has broad corporate and commercial experience spanning over 17 years. He provides professional services to ASX and AIM listed companies predominately in the mining and energy sector (including the initial listing of Sandfire Resources NL). He has an MBA, Bachelor of Commerce, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment and is a former officer in the armed services, having graduated from the Royal Military College, Duntroon. He is a fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia (FinSIA) and a member of CPA Australia.
    He is also a Non-executive director of Marine Produce Australia Limited (unlisted public company – previously listed on ASX until voluntary delisting in 2010).
