Diamond miner Lucapa has found yet another big sparkler at its Lulo diamond project in Angola.

The junior miner (ASX:LOM) says it found a 114 carat diamond, making it the eleventh 100-plus carat diamond recovered to date and the third this year.

The diamond will be added to an inventory of large diamonds being held for sale at a later date.

Lucapa said last week it had found 118 “specials” in the first half of 2018, including the giant pink 46-carat rock it uncovered in May from its Lulo mine in Angola.

In total, the company has dug up 2838 carats of special diamonds in the last six months from Lulo.

Shares briefly added about 2 per cent to trade at 27c before retracing their gains.
