Here are the key ASX small cap winners and losers at lunch Thursday December 20:
The ASX Small Ords was down 23.4 points or 1 per cent to 2,454.5 at 12.15pm AEST.
GOING UP
Cancer drug developer Patrys (ASX:PAB) rose as high as 42 per cent on Thursday morning, hitting 3.7c after it released another round of pre-clinical data showing that its cancer drug has significant potential in mice.
It told the market on Thursday morning that mice induced with triple negative breast cancer brain metastases and then treated with PAT-DX1 improved survival rates from zero to 86 per cent.
Sexual health drug developer Starpharma (ASX:SPL) told investors this morning that ITF Pharma would sell and market its VivaGel BV, for the treatment of bacterial vaginosis in the United States.
It says that will lead to milestone payments of up to $142m depending on regulatory approval and sales figures.
Shares rose 10 per cent to a high of $1.49 on the news.
Authorised Investment Fund (ASX:AIY) was on the rise again, its shares up 18 per cent to 6.5c.
Yesterday it rose 25 per cent after it announced one of its investees had launched a travel agency and today a different investee had signed a global digital distribution partnership in $16.3 billion epigenetics market.
88 Energy (ASX:88E) says it has lots of potential farm-in partners for its Project Icewine and it is extending the cut-off for bids, which sent the shares up 7 per cent to 1.6c.
“By shifting the self-imposed year-end deadline for the Icewine conventional farm-out, we are maximising the chances of achieving the best deal possible for our shareholders and we remain highly encouraged by the level of activity and the quality of the parties active in the dataroom,” chief Dave Wall said.

GOING DOWN
Shares in Global Traffic Network (ASX:GTN) were absolutely hammered in Thursday trade after the company put out a profit downgrade.
GTN said its half-year EBITDA would be 10 to 15 per cent lower than previously forecast.
Its shares fell 41 per cent to $1.03.
