Here are the key ASX small cap winners at lunch on Wednesday, February 13.

The ASX Small Ords was up 13.8 points or 0.5 per cent to 2,697.5 at 12.11pm AEST.

GOING UP

Coal miner Prairie Mining (ASX:PDZ) says it may turn to international authorities to settle a legal ruckus it is having with the Polish government over its Debiensko project.

As a result the stock was up 27 per cent as investors digested the fact that maybe they’ll see a resolution to this conundrum.

It’s the day to be in resources today as Galan Lithium (ASX:GLN) shares shot up on the news that it’s found a new big pile of lithium in Argentina.

They were up 17 per cent after saying they’ve found “thick, high‐grade lithium bearing brines” at the Candelas project and a partial intercept at 65 metres showing an average of 862 mg/l Li at a depth of 235m to 300m.

Orinoco Gold (ASX:OGX) shares rose after appointing a new chair. Two other directors bounced on the same day. They’ve also located an extra $400,000 to keep the business moving.

Predictive Discoveries (ASX:PDI) found more gold in Cote D’Ivoire, minerals extractor SciDev (ASX:SDV) found $2.5m under the bed, and IP legal business Xenith IP (ASX:XIP) has found a buffer against the long running hostile takeover from Qantm Intellectual Property — its preferred partner IPH took a 19.9 per cent stake.

GOING DOWN

Experience Co (ASX:EXP) downgraded its revenue and earnings forecast by as much as 12 per cent and 19 per cent respectively. The company also reported that the CEO has resigned. It dropped 38pc to 16.5c but has since climbed back to 20c.

YPB (ASX:YPB) dropped on news of a $1.25m capital raising intended for the commercialisation of one business arm and working capital.

And the only other falling star with news to work with this morning was Great Western Exploration (ASX:GTE), which fell 14 per cent after reporting more high grade gold finds at its Yandal project. One was even of 10.21g/t which definitely counts as ‘high grade’, so go figure.
