The ASX Small Ords was up 7.9 points or 0.3 per cent to 2,596 at 12pm AEST.

GOING UP

Otto Energy (ASX:OEL) lit up the boards on Monday morning, rising 71 per cent to as high as 7.2c — with a whopping $4.2 million worth of shares trading hands before lunch — as it revealed it had found heaps of oil.

“Petrophysical evaluation of the logging data indicates the presence of a total net hydrocarbon filled sand interval of 180 feet,” it told investors.

Auris Minerals (ASX:AUR) was only ever so slightly behind — its shares rose 70 per cent to 5.1c before lunch.

The company struck high grade copper hits at its Forrest and Wodger projects in Western Australia.

Scidev (ASX:SDV) shares got a 50 per cent bump prior to lunch, rising as high as 7.5c in response to its quarterly update that it popped out after the market closed on Friday.

The company pulled in $669,000 in sales for the December quarter.

SDV shares were then put into a trading halt just after midday pending a further announcement. Watch this space…

Odin Metals (ASX:ODM) shares rose 33 per cent to 18c after expanding its interests in Sturgeon Lake in Ontario.

“We are very excited to be consolidating coverage of the mineralised Mattabi Trend along the shared boundary of the combined concession areas. The agreement also provides Odin exposure to a wealth of exploration data and knowledge specific to the Sturgeon Lake District, and a working partnership with a producing partner in Canada with both development capabilities and exposure to down-stream smelting and refining facilities,” director Jason Bontempo said.
