Special report: Australian digital health, media and technology group 1st Group’s PetYeti booking platform will be promoted to more than 1,200 veterinarian clinics thanks to a new deal with global pharma giant Boehringer Ingelheim.

1st Group (ASX:1ST) supplies integrated technology platforms that help health, medical and vet practices improve the patient/customer healthcare journey by facilitating appointment bookings, check-ins, and feedback as well as customer engagement and loyalty.

PetYeti is its convenient and easy-to-use digital online booking platform. It also has value-added services that help improve the health and wellbeing of pets.

Under the deal, which is for a minimum of one year, Boehringer Ingelheim (BI) will recommend and actively promote PetYeti to the 1,200 vet practices in Australia that are members of its successful VetPlus program.

Under similar partnerships, vet practices pay $49 per month per vet, and with most practices having more than a single vet operating from them, the appointment booking aspect of the deal alone could deliver 1st Group a minimum of $60,000 in monthly revenue.

Commercial sales resulting in recurring monthly revenues are expected to commence by February 2019. The scope of the deal includes additional product cross-sell of complementary 1st Group products such as EasyRecall, EastFeedback and Advertising.

BI’s sales team, of over 30 highly-skilled professionals, will be trained by 1st Group on functionality and features starting next month. BI will also provide support for sales and marketing costs associated with the program as well as subsidising implementation costs and subscription fees for its members.

1st Group co-founder and managing director Klaus Bartosch said his company was thrilled to be working with the esteemed, 133-year-old company.

“This is a strategic partnership for 1st Group to help further accelerate our growth in the pet services market,” he said.

“BI adds a tremendous distribution capability that should lead to the broad adoption of PetYeti across its member base. We look forward to working with BI’s strong infield sales team to help its members engage with their customer in an easy to use way to book appointments on line”.

“PetYeti fits with our strategy to provide the best of breed solutions to enable our customers to achieve superior business outcomes for their practice. We undertook detailed due diligence on the system and the 1st Group team and are pleased to actively promote it to our members,” said Nishan Weerasekera, brand manager for pet biologicals at BI.
