Abilene Oil and Gas has plugged and abandoned a test well at its project in the US midwest state of Kansas.

The Logan County well drilled to 1500m but a “review of evaluation and sampling logs showed uncommercial results and therefore the decision was made to plug and abandon this test well”, Abilene (ASX:ABL) reported today.

Logan Prospect is a 40 sq km project made up of 35 leases in Logan County, Kansas.

Abilene, which has a 34.3 per cent stake in the well, said it would provide further test details in the future.

Abilene shares fell 12 per cent to 0.7c in Wednesday afternoon trade.
